Flowers In Snow
What a sight for sore eyes in Alaska! These crocus flowers wanted The Last Frontier to know that spring was on the way, whether it was ready or not. Juxtaposed against the striking white mountains and nearly blue skies in the background, these purple beauties are sending a very clear message to Mother Nature: They’re ready for their moment in the sun!

Flowers On Snow
Musician Henry Rollins once said, “In winter, I plot and plan. In spring, I move.” Though many people (and flowers) follow this practical pattern, some flowers like this one have a different “plan” altogether — and that’s to get moving as quickly as possible, no matter how much snow or other setbacks get in its way.

Flowers In Snow Pictures
These winter aconite flowers sure do brighten up the heaviness of all the snow piling up in Germany. We don’t know about you, but we can’t think of anything we’d like to see more in our gardens during this time of year than a surprise pop of color. What a sweet shock this sight must have been for whomever first came across it!

Flowers Snow
If we’re not mistaken, it looks like it may actually still be snowing in this photo. Amazingly enough, those distinctive flower buds are not only standing proudly, but also appear to be ready to blossom. Judging by the fabulous purple shade of the early buds, we can’t imagine how fantastic the petals will look once they’re ready. C’mon winter, all they need is a little bit of sunlight!

Flowers In The Snow
This snow-covered field was no match for a pink flower bud determined to bloom. What’s even more impressive to us is that we can also spot a few stray strands of grass peaking out amongst the uneven piles of snowflakes. Much like this flower, they’re standing tall and proud, as if to challenge the snow, “Just try to bury me again!”

Flowers Under Snow
The renowned William Shakespeare wrote in his play Romeo and Juliet, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” We wonder what the famous playwright would have said about such a sweet flower lasting throughout a snowstorm or two? We bet it would be poetic as ever!

Snow And Flowers
The late, great actor Robin Williams once quipped, “Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!'” This stunning pink flower in the midst of so much white is practically confirmation that what the beloved star said was true. Is it just us, or do we spot other “parties” popping up in the background of this striking image?

Flowers With Snow
Author Hal Borland once wrote, “No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.” Indeed, these are comforting words during any snowstorm, but it’s quite endearing how true they are — both figuratively and literally. We think that the springtime flower photographed here might have gotten just a little bit impatient waiting in line!

Snow Covered Flowers
We all know the line in The Sound of Music when Maria sings, “Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,” opening the famous song, “My Favorite Things.” This photo just might be enough to convince us to start singing about snowdrops on roses instead. You already have the tune stuck in your head, don’t you?

Flowers In Snow
Fashion designer Lilly Pulitzer once said, “Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring.” Like the other beauties shown above, this stunning bleeding heart plant in Santa Fe, New Mexico, certainly took that advice when it decided to grow straight through the flurries. Its bright pink petals add a much-needed dash of color to the wintry scene.Â
